The Managing Director of the outfit, Mrs. Bose Oni, refused to speak with our correspondent but some members of her staff who spoke on condition of anonymity said an electrical spark caused the fire outbreak.

Residents of the area attributed the serious impact of the inferno on the fire fighters who arrived almost two hours after it started.They explained that the fire fighters were drawn from Ikoyi and Ikeja because the fire equipment at FESTAC Town was not functioning.

The fire fighters were still making frantic efforts to put off the fire as at 6.00pm when our correspondent left the venue.
